The cost of living index rose by 1.3 percent during March, the Central Bureau of Statistics announced last week. Finance Ministry circles were pleased with the increase, lower than they had feared. They expressed hopes that the annual inflationary rate this year would be lower than last year’s relatively low rate of just over 20 percent.
