The former head of Austria’s far-right Freedom Party said Austria’s latest agreement to compensate Jewish Holocaust victims means the country must now seek compensation for Germans deported from Czechoslovakia to Austria after the war, Czech newspapers reported. Jorg Haider said that some 2.5 million Germans who were expelled had “suffered the same fate” as Jews.
