The Frankfurt-based Central Welfare Office of Jewish Communities in West Germany has reported a very small drop in the number of Jews currently registered in the Federal Republic. They total 28,202, 70 fewer than were registered as of July, 1982. The number is expected to decline further. The largest Jewish community is in West Berlin where 6,548 Jews are registered, followed by Frankfurt and Munich.
