The Israel Defense Force hired AT&T to boost its Internet site, which has been overwhelmed by a sharp rise in users as well as hacking attempts prompted by the recent Israeli-Palestinian violence. An IDF official said that surfers from more than 100 countries had accessed the site, www.idf.il, which registered 140,000 hits in a week.
