The Israeli army is using Russian veterans of the Chechnya war as specialized snipers. The veteran sharpshooters, many of whom are over 40 and have volunteered their services to the Israel Defense Forces, have been organized into a special unit known as the “Aliyah Brigade,” Ha’aretz reported.
