The Israeli president’s visit to Argentina was canceled. Moshe Katsav’s visit, slated for the end of November, was canceled after Yasser Arafat’s death. Katsav, who was invited by the local government and the Jewish community, was expected to meet with Argentine President Nestor Kirchner and to participate in tributes to the AMIA and Israeli Embassy bombings.
