The Jerusalem building housing the first Knesset has been saved from demolition. Israeli television reported Wednesday that national heritage lobbies had raised the money to make a museum out of Beit Frumin, the modest two-story structure on King George Street that served as the Israeli Parliament from December 1949 to August 1966.
