The leader of Italy’s Jews said he is unimpressed by a Vatican announcement that it will open some of its secret archives. On Tuesday, the Vatican, trying to counter charges that Pope Pius XII was silent in the face of the Holocaust, confirmed it would open up some of the archives, including documents from 1922 to 1939.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
