The leaders of Israel’s fervently Orthodox Shas, Agudat Yisrael and Degel HaTorah movements issued a joint edict rejecting the compromise proposed by the Ne’eman Committee for resolving the crisis on conversions performed in the Jewish state. The edict termed the Conservative and Reform movements “destroyers of religion trying to get their claws into the Holy Land.”
