The Orthodox Union called on Israel’s Supreme Court to prevent synagogues in the evacuated Gaza Strip from being razed. Destroying the synagogues would go against Jewish law and “set a terrible precedent with regard to Jewish communities around the world,” the group said in a letter to the court.
