The Palestinian Authority released Hamas funds it had frozen last year. It’s unclear how much money was released to Hamas bank accounts last weekend. The money belongs to 12 charities affiliated with Hamas’ so-called political wing. Ha’aretz reported that one of the charities was started by Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin, whom Israel killed in March.

Israeli warplanes fired on suspected Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Wednesday’s raid occurred after Hezbollah fired shells into northern Israel in response to Israeli jets that flew into Lebanese airspace.
