The Palestinian representative in Brussels was granted a first-ever invitation to take part in July 21 ceremonies marking Belgium’s independence day. A Belgian Foreign Ministry official described the decision to have the Palestinian official join accredited foreign ambassadors as an indication of Belgium’s support for the Middle East peace process.
