The poet laureate of New Jersey defended a poem he wrote insinuating that Israel knew in advance about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Amiri Baraka asserted that the meaning of his poem, “Somebody Blew Up America,” was distorted, and he dismissed the governor’s demand that he resign and apologize.
