The president of Croatia condemned anti-Semitism and said his nation had left behind a period in its history when it was “flirting with the Nazi-fascist ideas.” Speaking after Israel’s new ambassador to Croatia, David Granit, presented his credentials, President Stipe Mesic vowed not to forget the Balkan country’s history as a Nazi puppet state.
