The president of Hungary’s Jewish community resigned last Friday. Andras Heisler of the Alliance of Hungarian Jewish Communities said he decided to resign after his reform plans received insufficient support from the organization. “I felt that the organization’s staff and executives did not stand behind the ideas and reforms that I tried to realize,” Heisler told reporters.
