The president of the Dominican Republic visited Israel. President Hipolito Mejia’s two-day visit to Israel last week was the first ever by a Dominican head of state to Israel. Mejia’s trip included talks on business cooperation between the two countries, and he met with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
