The Reform movement’s Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion named Rabbi David Ellenson as its new president. Ellenson, a longtime professor and administrator at the college’s Los Angeles campus, will replace Rabbi Sheldon Zimmerman, who resigned in December after being suspended from the movement’s Central Conference of American Rabbis.
