The Rev. Jesse Jackson praised Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Jackson called Daniel Ayalon, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, on Thursday to say that after the Israeli withdrawal the onus is now on the Palestinians and the Arabs to take steps toward peace, and said he would use his credentials in the Arab world to convey the message, an Israeli official in Washington said.
