The solitary confinement of a jailed Palestinian militia leader was extended for six more months. On Monday, Marwan Barghouti again refused to testify in his defense at his trial in Israel. Barghouti, who faces murder charges for involvement in terrorist attacks, said the outcome of the trial had been predetermined against him. He pointed to recent remarks by Israel’s attorney general calling him a “terror architect” as proof a Palestinian could not receive a fair trial by Israel.
