The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to reduce the number of its peacekeepers serving in southern Lebanon. Palestinians fired a mortar shell into a settlement in the Gaza Strip, hitting a house but causing no injuries, according to the Israel Defense Force. The army called the incident at the Netzarim settlement “very serious and grave.”
