The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution supporting Israel and condemning Palestinian leaders for the ongoing violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The nonbinding measure, which was passed by a vote of 365 to 30, condemned Yasser Arafat and other Palestinian leaders for “encouraging the violence and doing so little for so long to stop it, resulting in the senseless loss of life.”
