The U.S. Supreme Court turned away an appeal from John Demjanjuk to restore his U.S. citizenship. A judge stripped the Ukrainian-born Cleveland man of his citizenship in 2002, ruling that he had lied and hid his past as a Nazi concentration camp guard in order to gain citizenship. Despite the latest setback, reported Nov. 18 by The Associated Press, Demjanjuk, 84, does not face deportation until all his appeals are exhausted; at least one other is still working its way through the courts.
