The United States wants Arab governments to respond to anti-Semitism in Arab media. When incitement appears in the Arab world, often “there is a total absence of some kind of response from the government,”William Burns, assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, said Monday at an Anti-Defamation League conference in Washington.
