There is no hope of reviving Israeli-Syrian negotiations anytime soon, according to a British author who is a confidant of Syrian President Hafez Assad. “The Syrian track of the peace process has died, although no one wants to admit it officially. Only a miracle can bring it to life,” Patrick Seale wrote in the London-based Arab daily Al-Hayat.
