Headed by uniformed nurses of the Hadassah Medical Organisation bearing a wreath, several thousand people, including representatives of all the medical, political and social organisations, followed to-day in the funeral procession of Dr. Alexander Zalkind, the Director of the Rothschild Hospital here, who died last night of cancer.
Dr. Zalkind was once at the head of the Union of Russian Jewish Communities and he represented the Ukrainian Zionists at the Peace Conference at Versailles. He settled in Palestine in 1921 and among other offices was President of the Magen Society for providing aid for the persecuted Zionists in Russia.
