Thousands of Palestinians marched in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to express support for Saddam Hussein, with many demonstrators calling on the Iraqi leader to launch missiles on Tel Aviv. The demonstrations enabled the Palestinians to let out their frustrations over the deadlocked peace process, according to an official with the Palestine Liberation Organization, which orchestrated the mass rallies. Meanwhile, U.S. State Department spokesman James Rubin called on the Palestinians to oppose Saddam as an enemy of peace and a threat to all people in the region.
