To stop an initiative to cut $250 million in U.S. military aid to Israel, Defense Secretary William Cohen must assure Congress that Israel’s sale of an airborne early warning system to China would not endanger American security, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. The U.S. House subcommittee in charge of allocating money is requesting that Cohen provide this assurance.
