Torah scrolls that had been evacuated from New Orleans to Baton Rouge because of Hurricane Katrina were again moved to keep them safe after Rita. “They had to re-rescue the Torahs that had already been rescued once,” Emily Grotta, a spokeswoman for the Union for Reform Judaism, said of the scrolls that were being kept at Beth Shalom Synagogue.
