Charging that a person “well known to the members of this committee” has organized a Gentile boycott against those who sublet leaseholds on Toronto Island to Jews, Alderman J. J. Glass moved at a meeting of the Civic Parks Committee here that no more subletting be permitted without the committee’s approval.

The alderman refused to divulge the name of the man to whom he referred, declaring:

“This individual told me he was without prejudice against members of the Jewish race. I think he even went so far as to make a statement to the press. Now he has gone underground and organized a body on the island to intimidate any person who sublets to a Jew.”

The committee will call upon the person Glass spoke of to be present at the next meeting and answer the charges.
