President Truman will ask Congress to provide funds up to half of those recommended by a United Nations resolution for care of refugees in Palestine, but in no case more than $16,000,000, the White House announced today.

The U.N. resolution considered that a sum of approximately $29,500,000 will be required to provide relief for refugees over the nine-month period ending Aug. 31, 1949, the announcement said.
