Turkish maritime authorities have decided to alter the call schedules of Turkish vessels calling at Israeli ports so as to avoid complications with the Arab states’ boycott of Israel. In the future, Turkish vessels dealing with Israel, will travel direct to Haifa without stopping off at any Arab port.

(A report from Cairo yesterday said that the Arab League submitted proposals to its seven member nations to extend the economic boycott measures against Israel. The governments of the seven Arab states have been requested, among other things, to inform Turkey, Italy and Greece of the importance attached to the boycott by the Arabs, the report stated.)

A group of 20 Turkish Jews returned today from Israel where they had gone as immigrants. The returnees complained of difficult economic conditions and the food shortages in the Jewish State.
