The present government of Turkey rejects all ideas of discrimination and considers all its citizens one people regardless of religion or race, Sadi Bekter, general manager of the Central Bank of the Turkish Republic and a deputy in the parliament, told a press conference here.

To a question by a Jewish newspaperman whether the views of the Republican Party–which is currently in power and of which Bekter is a member–on minorities has changed since its enactment during the war of a tax program which proved ruinous for minority groups, Bekter replied that the party does not want to consider the past, but only the present and the future.
