Twelve thousand dollars of Portland’s quota of $15,000 for the United Palestine Appeal was raised at a banquet and mass meeting held last night.

Rabbi Samuel Sachs presided at the banquet, attended by one hundred and fifty guests who paid $50 a plate.

Rabbi Louis Newman of San Francisco was the principal speaker. Jacob Rosenberg was elected chairman of the local drive, Rabbi Samuel Sachs, vice-chairman, Z. Swett, treasurer, and I. Treiger, secretary.
