Two Jews Elected to Australian Parliament, Election Returns Show

Two Jews were elected to both houses of parliament in last Saturday’s nationwide elections, it was reported today. Walter Jona, a prominent Jewish leader and a member of the Jewish Board of Deputies, was elected to the Legislative Assembly. Baron Snider, a retiring member of the Legislative Assembly, obtained a seat on the Legislative Council.
