Two Jews were wounded today in a clash with police when a group of six Jews tried to enter Palestine “illegally,” the Arab News Agency reports. The other four were arrested, the report added, but gave no further details.

Dr. Bernard Joseph, acting head of the political department of the Jewish Agency, today told a press conference that High Commissioner Lord Gort has rejected a plea by the Jewish Agency for clemency for fourteen Jewish youths convicted at recent “arms trials” of illegal possession of weapons. The plea was submitted on the occasion of V.J Day.
