Two New York congressmen asked the U.S. Attorney General to investigate a threat to a rabbi. Reps. Eliot Engel and Benjamin Gilman said Rockland County Rabbi Tovia Singer’s life effectively had been threatened on a Web site that calls upon Muslims to “make Orthodox Jews worldwide pay the price.” The site, which says Singer accused a Muslim man of beating his wife and children, is filled with anti-Semitic rhetoric.
