Two people were killed after a car bomb exploded on a small side street near a crowded outdoor Jerusalem market. Both of the victims were passers-by, the city’s police chief said. Nine people were lightly injured. In a statement faxed to the Reuters news agency, Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.
