Two prominent Venezuelan-Jewish women were decorated by President Carlos Andres Perez for their achievements in the field of journalism. Dr. Paulina Almosny, lawyer and columnist in the influential daily “El Nacional,” and Mrs. Alicia Segal, literary critic and executive director of the CAIV, Venezuelan Jewry’s representative body, received the Order of Francisco de Miranda, Dr. Almosny was a member of Venezuela’s delegation to the UN’s conference on women in Mexico City. Mrs. Segal has just published a second volume of her collected articles.
