Two senior U.S. envoys will travel to the Middle East to lay the groundwork for an Israeli- Palestinian summit. William Burns, assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, and Elliott Abrams, senior director of Near Eastern affairs at the National Security Council, are expected to leave Wednesday morning for the region, sources told JTA.
