Two-thirds of Americans polled believe the United States should be even-handed in its Middle East policies, according to a new survey. The poll, conducted by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, found that only 22 percent of Americans believe the United States should take Israel’s side, although 58 percent believe the Bush administration’s policies favor Israel.
