Both Israel and Jordan were censured this weekend by the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission for last week’s shootings along the armistice lines here in this city.

The United Nations chairman of the commission cast his decisive vote in support of both the Israel and Jordan resolutions, each of which condemned the other for violating the truce. Although the chairman said it was impossible to ascertain which side fired first, he voted in favor of the Israel draft which said Jordanian positions had opened fire at 12:15 a.m.Sunday. The chairman called upon both sides to meet “at the earliest opportunity” to consider ways of maintaining peace and quiet in Jerusalem.
