Commander Elmo Hutchison, U.S. Navy, chairman of the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission, has denied reports published abroad that when the Israeli delegation left the commission over the vote on the Negev bus massacre resolution offered by Israel, the Israeli senior delegate said that Israel could not prevent retaliatons.

A spokesman for Commander Hutchison, who made the denial on his behalf, also denied allegations that the Israeli delegate said the chairman’s abstention on the vote meant the end of UN supervision of the truce in Palestine. (In United Nations circles in New York it was stated that Commander Hutchison had also denied that he had been threatened.)
