U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan pledged he would try to persuade Israel to accept Security Council resolutions calling on it to withdraw from all lands it has occupied since the 1967 Six-Day War. Annan made the comment after meeting with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat in the West Bank town of Ramallah.
