While a Foreign Ministry spokesman later denied that the visit was related to recent Syrian developments, it was noted here that Col. Leary conferred with Mr. Tekoah immediately after a meeting in Damascus with Maj. Gen. Afif Bizri, new leftist Syrian Army Chief of Staff.
