U.N. Watch demanded that the U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon be probed for allegedly helping Hezbollah. In a letter sent Monday, the monitoring group called on U.N. secretary-general, Kofi Annan, to investigate allegations that UNIFIL provided intelligence to Hezbollah during its recent war with Israel.
Poland marked the 62nd anniversary of the liquidation of the Lodz Ghetto. More than 150 people took part in a commemorative march Tuesday in Lodz, according to the PAP Polish news agency. Israel’s ambassador to Poland, David Peleg, Lodz Mayor Jerzy Kropiwnicki and the leader of the Jewish community in Lodz, Sycha Keller, participated in the ceremonies and prayer service marking the anniversary.
