Acting Secretary of State Sumner Welles revealed today that the American Embassy in Berlin has made representations to the German Foreign Office stating that this Government understands that American rights and property are being protected against anti-Jewish decrees, including the latest measures, and asking assurances to this effect. No reply to this note has been received as yet.
