Wilfred L. Karrer, a Bureau of Reclamation construction engineer, has gone to Israel to serve as irrigation adviser to the United States technical cooperation director in the development of the national irrigation water supply, Secretary of the Interior Douglas McKay announced today.

Mr. Karrer, a veteran employee of the Bureau of Reclamation, is an expert on the development of irrigation systems through the use of pipelines rather than open canals. The scarcity of adequate water supplies in Israel makes pipeline transmission a prime requisite in the development of water resources.
