The State Department announced today that the U.S. would send ten additional military observers to Palestine to serve with Count Folke Bernadotte, U.N. mediator, in carrying out the truce.

Twenty-one U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force officers are already in Palestine serving in the same capacity. The ten observers being sent now will include four Army, three Air Force and three Navy officers.
