The month of October will witness scores of dinners and other events throughout the United States and Canada dedicated to the 75th birthday of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, it was announced today by Dr, Joseph J, Schwartz, vice-president of the Israel Bond Organization.

According to the Hebrew calendar, Mr. Ben-Gurion’s birthday will occur on Wednesday, September 27, However, in 1886, the year of his birth, the Gregorian calendar date was October 16, Following the latter date, special celebrations in honor of Israel’s leader will be held during October under the auspices of Israel Bonds, Dr. Schwartz said. Cables of congratulation were addressed today to Prime Minister Ben-Gurion by Abraham Feinberg, president and Dr, Schwartz, vice-president of State of Israel Bond Organization.

“We believe that in arranging 75th birthday celebrations, Jewish communities are motivated not only by a genuine desire to honor Israel’s world famous leader, but to advance the cause of Israel bonds which Mr. Ben-Gurion has characterized as the indispensable foundation for the country’s continued growth economically, socially, culturally and scientifically,” Dr. Schwartz declared.
