U.S. Jewish groups met to discuss plans for next year’s celebration of the 350th birthday of American Jewish life. The meeting Tuesday at the Center for Jewish History, in New York, centered around plans for the yearlong celebration in 2004, which will mark 350 years since 23 Jewish refugees came to New Amsterdam from Recife, Brazil. Information about the year’s special events, which still are being planned, will be listed on a new Web site, www.celebrate350.org.
